a bit late on this but wow what a great release. shoegaze is still strong in 2011. The album is engaging and every track switches up tempo and style, which makes for a captivating listen. the austin group seems to have garnered a lot of flak for being too cookie cutter, but this album hangs with the best of them. I’m not going to conjure up MBV or jesus and the mary chain or other similar sounding bands, its simple and lazy to make comparisons and deride something for being unoriginal. Criticisms for sticking to a genre are ridiculous. I will say this is a good album if youre a fan of shoegaze and the works of the pains of being pure at heart. Along with Kaputt this one of my favorite releases in 2011.
